A router is a device that interconnects two or more computer networks, and selectively interchanges packets of data between them.
Types of router: wired and wireless router.
ACCESS POINT:
In computer networking, a wireless access point (WAP) is a device that allows wired communication devices to connect to a wireless router using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or related standards. The WAP usually connects to a router, and can relay data between the wireless devices (such as computers or printers) and wired devices on the network.

A network interface card (NIC) is a hardware device that handles an interface to a computer network and allows a network-capable device to access that network.

Modem, as a shortened form of MOdulatorDEModulator, allows the computer to convert data in useful information.
When it receives an analog data through a connection, it has to convert it in digital data to be usable by the computer. Likewise it reverses the action when it has to send data.
